CONTRACT MANAGEMENT PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibility 1: EVALUATION OF CONTRACT CLAIMS

Tasks:

1. Evaluates the veracity and propriety of contractual claims such as time extensions, suspensions, resumptions, variation orders (change order and/or extra work order) and others related contractual issues involving engineering in adherence to contract specifications, existing corporate policies and procedures and applicable rules and regulations.

2. Coordinates with Proponents (Engineering Construction Department and Engineering Design Department) to gather information and complete documentation relative to the claim being evaluated.

3. Prepares and consolidates the following:

  • Evaluation Report which contains the details, justifications and the basis of the contract claim.
  • Memo Endorsement to Approving Authority
  • Other documents relevant for the endorsement and approval of the contract claim
4. Conducts on-site verification/inspection relative to the resolution of specified field changes, modifications and non-conformance identified during contract implementation.

5. Assists during meetings with Project Heads and contractors relative to contract compliance and other contractual issues.

Responsibility 2: ENHANCEMENT TO PROCESSES AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CONCERNING CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

Tasks:


1. Assists in the settlement/resolution of contractual disputes, queries and deviations from contracts agreement consistent with contract specifications, existing corporate policies and procedures.

2. Assists in the review of enhancements to the existing contract provisions to conform to    the requirements of the scope of works/specifications consistent with engineering standards, construction plans and drawings, existing corporate policies and procedures and applicable rules and regulations.

3. Participates in the development of procedures and guidelines for the enhancement of    contract administration.

4. Analyzes and assesses database of project status and recommends improvement to the system.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical / Civil Engineering
  • Applicable license and/or certification: Licensed Electrical / Civil Engineer Professional Experience: 4 years of relevant experience in contract management, 1 year of which in a Senior Engineer capacity
  • Technical and contractual knowledge in project contracting of Substation and Transmission Line projects
  • Advance knowledge on the different types of contracts for infrastructure projects such as Substations and Transmission Lines
  • Technical writing proficiency for the documentation the evaluation of contractual claims and other reports
  • Communication skills for the preparation of internal / external memorandum, correspondences and reports 
  • Knowledge and skills in the use of application software such as MS Office (Excel, Power Point and Word)
