NGCP completes restoration of #VintaPH-affected lines

Date Published: 12/24/2017 3:00:00 PM

Power transmission operations in Visayas are back to normal operations as NGCP successfully completed the restoration of lines affected by Tropical Storm Vinta.

Normalization of the Mindanao grid came after the last affected line, the Ipil-Sirawai/Salug 69kV line, was restored at 2:10PM of December 24. The said line tripped last December 22 at 5:06PM, affecting customers of the Zamboanga del Norte Electric Cooperative (ZANECO) and Zamboanga del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ZAMSURECO). Transmission services in other affected areas are now under normal operations.

The complete energization of all lines affected by #VintaPH concludes NGCP's monitoring for this weather disturbance. NGCP's Overall Disaster Command Center (OCMC) also resumed normal operations as the weather disturbance poses no further threat to any NGCP facility.

NGCP assures the public that it is continuously monitoring weather disturbances and is ready to activate its OCMC should there be any threat to its transmission facilities.
