Power transmission operations in Luzon are back to normal operations as NGCP successfully completed the restoration of all lines affected by Tropical Depression Maring.
Normalization of the Luzon grid came after the last affected line, the Olongapo-Cawag 69-kiloVolt line, was restored at 11:00PM of September 12. The said line tripped at 8:40PM of the same day, affecting customers of the Zambales II E
Aerial inspections are being conducted by NGCP personnel to assess slope protection of transmission structures, particularly facilities near riverbanks and mountainous areas, to ensure that no further physical restoration is required and to preserve the integrity of the grid.
NGCP's Overall Disaster Command Center (OCMC) also resumed normal operations as Tropical Depression Maring exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).The weather disturbance poses no further threat to any NGCP facility.
NGCP assures the public that it is continuously monitoring weather disturbances and is ready to activate its OCMC should there be any threat to its transmission facilities.###
