NGCP continues its Visayas restoration efforts for facilities affected by the July 6 earthquake.

As of July 19, the 150MVA and 100MVA transformers from Compostela, Cebu are now in transit to Ormoc to replace the damaged Transformer 2 in Ormoc Substation and as a spare transformer at Babatngon Substation. Once transferred, the 150MVA transformer will be tested and commissioned to increase the substation’s capacity to receive and transmit power to distribution utilities in Leyte, Samar, Biliran, and Bohol.

Transformer 1 (150MVA) and Transformer 6 (150MVA) will need further inspection to determine the extent of damage before energization.

NGCP's Ormoc-Tongonan 138kV line has been ready since July 8 to transmit power from Greencore. Greencore committed to supply 40MW out of its 70MW pre-earthquake capacity by July 19.

All other parallel strategies, particularly the hauling of transformers from Cebu and reconfiguration of 230kV to 138kV lines, are ongoing and ready for implementation, respectively.
