NGCP continues its Visayas restoration efforts for facilities affected by the July 6 earthquake.
As of July 20, the 150MVA and 100MVA transformers from Compostela, Cebu arrived in NGCPís Ormoc Substation early this morning. Preparatory works are now ongoing for the assembly, testing, and commissioning of the transformers.
The 150MVA transformer will replace the damaged Transformer 2 in Ormoc Substation and the 100MVA transformer will be used as a spare at the Babatngon Substation. Once energized, the 150MVA transformer will increase the substationís capacity to receive and transmit power to distribution utilities in Leyte, Samar, Biliran, and Bohol.
Remaining damaged transformers at NGCPís Ormoc Substation are undergoing further inspection to determine the extent of damage before energization.
Other parallel strategies, particularly the reconfiguration of 230kV to 138kV lines, are ready for implementation.
